FOLIO: A folio is a sheet of paper folded once to form two leaves (or four pages) of a book or manuscript. It can also refer to a large book size. This term is commonly used in the publishing and library industries. Originating from the Latin word "folium," meaning "leaf," folios were once used to number the pages of legal documents and are now often associated with high-quality, large books or manuscripts.
READY: The word ready describes a state of being fully prepared for an activity or situation. It is commonly used in everyday language to express promptness or quickness in responding to events. The term comes from the Old English "rēde," akin to the Old High German "reiti," which means "prepared," and has evolved into the versatile adjective we use today, often indicating eagerness or willingness alongside preparedness.
What is Dordle?
Dordle by Zaratustra is a daily word puzzle game that challenges players to guess two five-letter words simultaneously. It’s a twist on the popular game Wordle, doubling the difficulty. You have seven attempts to guess both words. After each guess, the game provides color-coded feedback for each word, indicating which letters are correct and in the correct position and which are correct but in the wrong position. This requires a combination of vocabulary, strategy, and deduction. The goal is to solve both words in as few tries as possible.
How to Play Dordle
- Start with a guess: Enter any five-letter word. It’s often a good strategy to start with a word that uses many common vowels (like “ADIEU” or “AUDIO”) to get a broad idea of which letters are in the words.
- Understand the feedback: After you submit your guess, the letters will be color-coded for each of the two words:
- Green: The letter is correct and in the correct position.
- Yellow: The letter is in the word but in the wrong position.
- Gray: The letter is not in the word at all.
- Guess again: Based on the feedback, make another guess. Try to incorporate the letters you know are in the words, and avoid the letters you know are not. Remember, you’re trying to solve two words at the same time.
- Continue guessing: You have a total of seven tries to guess both words. If you haven’t solved them by then, the game is over.
